Cardiff University has extensive experience in European programs, and the fields of energy, transport and behaviour.
Its new Electric Vehicle Centre of Excellence (EVCE) combines a unique set of competencies in engineering with a network of social scientists within the ESRC Centre for Business Relationships, Accountability, Sustainability and Society (BRASS).

The Cardiff School of Psychology is home of the interdisciplinary Understanding Risk Research Group and a partner in the internationally renowned Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, reflecting its expertise in behavioural responses to climate change, energy and transport issues.

Cardiff University has expertise in a range of evaluation and research methods. Cardiff University personnel are currently working on relevant projects: on the development of smart grid scenarios for the UK (which includes modelling electric vehicles integration); on mixed‐method field experiments to change energy behaviours across UK universities; and on several European projects to foster sustainable transport and electric vehicles adoption.

Câmara de Lisboa is the executive body of City of Lisbon.
In December 2008, the Lisbon municipality approved the Lisbon Energy and Environmental Strategy with very clear targets regarding energy, water and materials. In line with the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency, the Lisbon targets aim to achieve an energy consumption reduction of 8.9%, achievable through energy management in buildings and transport by 2013.

At a national level, Lisbon is part of the ambitious National Program for Electric Mobility (MOBI.E) launched in 2008 with the aim of setting up a nation‐wide intelligent recharging network with 500 charging points. In this framework, Lisbon has developed a long‐term strategy envisioning a city with high environmental standards and where electric mobility plays a major role. In the same spirit, the municipality wants to lead by example and increase the share of electric vehicles in its municipal fleet, which is aligned with the goals of the eBRIDGE project.

Occam

Occam is a Portuguese private consultancy and training company specialised in the Transport, Energy and Environment areas, a spin‐off company of the research team DTEA – Transports, Energy and Environment of Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon.

Its work history includes the promotion of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability in transport, including the development of life‐cycle assessments of conventional and alternative fuels (well‐to‐wheel studies), comparison of vehicle technologies in terms of energy and environmental performance, fleet renewal plans, as well as feasibility studies of sustainable mobility solutions.

Occam develops advanced training programs in transport, such as eco-driving and energy management in fleets. In the last few years it has been increasingly invlolved in the coordination of the first Portuguese eco‐driving nationwide project (Eco‐condução Portugal) and supporting the development of municipal inventories and climate change mitigation strategies.

Azienda Trasporti Milanesi SpA

ATM - Azienda Trasporti Milanesi SpA - is the company owned by the Municipality of Milan, which runs public transport in Milan and in 87 Municipalities in the Province, serving a territory with an overall population of about 3 million inhabitants. Its transport network consists of 119 lines and an overall network of nearly 1,500 km formed by: Underground rapid transit network (approx 79 km) Tram, (520 vehicles) Trolley‐bus (156 vehicles) Bus (1,453 vehicles).

Besides public transport, ATM manages the interchange car parks and other transportation services including bike-sharing and car-sharing systems. Its brand GuidaMI, provides the car-sharing service in Milan since 2008 and today it ismarket leader in Italy in terms of customers, cars and turnover. Since the beginning GuidaMI is member of the national car sharing network ICS, which allows to use the service in eleven Italian cities with a single mode of access and payment.

Movilidad Urbana Sostenible S.L.

Movus was founded with the goal of bringing new solutions to the urban mobility in order to help achieve more sustainable mobility. Located in Valencia, Spain, Movus focuses on the research and development of new mobility solutions. The present market offers few solutions, and usually with insufficient information, lack of technology and appropriate applications. This is the case of some modern systems such as bike‐sharing, car‐pooling, car‐sharing, electric vehicles, and on-demand public transportat.

The implementation of these strategies needs a deep knowledge of the problem to be able to propose and implement coherent and effective new solutions using new technologies and methodologies of management.The priorities of the company are the new approaches to mobility, which can generate alternatives to the private car, in order to make a shift towards a more environmental, social and economic sustainable mobility.

 

CEAGA-Galicia Cluster of Automotive Companies

The CEAGA Foundation is an association, which brings together the entire automotive industry in Galicia, a region in the northwest of Spain. It was first established in November 2006 in order to implement the "Strategic Plan for the Galician Automotive Sector" (PESA).

This Foundation is a natural extension of the Galician Automotive Companies Cluster, created in 1997 by initiative of 37 automotive components manufacturers, with the aim of developing cooperative projects to improve their competitiveness.

Since it was first established, the number of members has more than doubled in size: from an initial figure of 37 companies to the 91 companies (including the PSA Peugeot Citroën centre in Vigo and the Galician Automotive Technological Centre) which currently form part of CEAGA. The 91 companies of the cluster had a turnover in 2011 of 7,000 million EUR, representing 12% of Galician GDP, and employing 19,300 people in the industry.

The Government of the Balearic Islands participates in the eBRIDGE project through two General Directorates:
1. The General Directorate of Industry and Energy with competences in the fields of energy saving and efficiency. The directorate works in a close cooperation with the national IDAE (Institute for Diversification and Saving of Energy), a public entity under the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism on the Development Action Plan 2008‐2012 (PAE4 +) Strategy Savings and Efficiency in Spain.

Some current regional projects being developed under this cooperation agreement are urban mobility plans, the modernization of the fleet and new charging stations and the promotion of efficient driving measures for passenger and industrial vehicles. These three lines of work are directly related to energy efficiency in the transportation sector.

2. The General Coordination of the Government is responsible for monitoring programs and projects developed by the Autonomous Community. In April 2011, it drafted the Plan of Action of the Electric Vehicle Development in the Balearic Islands.

Berlin

Berlin, the capital of Germany, is a metropolis with 3.3 million inhabitants. The city is transforming continuously and provides a breeding ground for research and innovation. A dense public transport network, low car ownership and an established car sharing landscape with more than 3,500 vehicles are the ideal starting point for new mobility concepts.

Austrian municipalities

In contrast to the global trend, car sharing in Austria remained static for the last 15 years. The introduction of electric mobility on the one hand and the entry of new market players on the other hand have reactivated the sector.

Vigo

Vigo is a big city situated in the province of Pontevedra, in the north-west coast of Spain. As a harbour city, Vigo plays a strategic role for the regional tourism and its solid transport infrastructure makes it a transport hub for the Galician region and the north of the neighboring country Portugal.

Valencia - Palma

The metropolitan area of Valencia, with 1.7 million inhabitants, is the 3rd largest urban agglomeration in Spain. In the last few years, the region has made substantial investments to improve its transportation system with a commitment to promoting the use of sustainable modes of transport.

Milan

Milan, located in the North of Italy, is the second largest Italian city and the capital of Lombardy region. The city covers an area of 182 km2 and has 1.35 million inhabitants. It will host EXPO 2015 and is expecting around 20 million visitors in a year; it is therefore planning a strengthening of its transport service system and has already introduced a Pollution Charge paid by car users entering in the city centre (the so called Area C). The Milan eBRIDGE pilot has been focused on the e-car sharing fleet located into the Area C.

Lisbon

Lisbon is the capital city of Portugal, with a resident population of 547,773 inhabitants. The city is situated on the right bank of River Tagus, in the heart of the country, being its political and major economic centre, presenting a cosmopolitan dynamic as a result of the hundreds of daily movements registered by its floating and resident population.

Carmarthenshire

Carmarthenshire is one of 22 Welsh administrative divisions (Counties). It is the third largest Welsh County by area, and the fourth largest by population (183,800 inhabitants).
