More incentives, lower emissions

In Portugal, the recent reform of the Green Taxation proposed the reintroduction of a measure of incentive to the end-of-life vehicle renovation. In this case, the consumers are compensated for taking cars with more than 10 years old out of circulation, being attributed a subsidy of €4.500 when the introduction is a new electric vehicle.

This incentive has been suspended in 2011 but will be introduced next year. Different incentives are also applied for other alternative vehicles and for conventional vehicles,
in this case when their emission is lower than 100 g CO2/km.
